This week we’re building on last week’s work, where we practiced individual parts of the triplet—whether it was the second or third note. Now we’re putting it all together to create a full four-against-three polyrhythm, grouping triplets in fours to form our first 1-2-3 pattern.

We’ll practice by:

  • Lap-tapping slowly with the metronome

  • Clapping slowly with the metronome

  • Gradually increasing speed

  • Developing a sensory feel for each beat and for the rhythm as a whole
